With music by Stephen Schwartz and book by John-Michael Tebelak, the Gospel of Matthew comes to the stage of the NYCA Cabaret Theatre. The musical's portrayal of Jesus and the disciples as a band of loving clowns strongly reflects the 1970s era, a time shrouded in the mistrust of those who looked and acted differently...even though they celebrated life under the banner of Love for one another
