Gold Rumi

A night of music and poetry featuring Haleh Liza Gafori, Shane Shanahan, and Steve Gorn, celebrating the launch of GOLD Poems by Rumi, released by New York Review Books/Penguin Random House. Vocalist, poet, and translator, Haleh Liza Gafori will share new translations of poems by the Persian mystic and sage Rumi. Accompanied by master musicians, bansuri flautist Steve Gorn and percussionist Shane Shanahan, she’ll sing dashes of the Persian text, offering glimpses into the astonishing rhythm, rhyme, and wordplay that propels Rumi’s original poems.
