“Hendrix Of The Sahara” Vieux Farka Touré At Woodstock Sessions On 10/2

During the day (10/2), Vieux will lead a workshop on 'Desert Blues' - the Saharan musical style made famous by his father, Ali Farka Touré, and expanded upon and taken to new territory by Vieux himself as one of if not the foremost living masters of the tradition. He will teach basic rhythm and melody principles of this unique, transfixing style and field questions both technical, cultural and personal about the music and his experience as an African touring artist.

We will then together eat a traditional north African meal and mingle with the artist and producers.

In the evening, we will re-enter the studio as Vieux will record his WS release.

Vieux has performed around the world with what he calls his 'power rock trio', but after 7 studio albums he has yet to record one with the trio. This album will be his truest representation of his live show in the studio to date, where he is free to delve deep into the rocking energy that make his live show so powerful and transcendent.

We welcome your presence and energy into this once in a lifetime event!

All attendees will receive:
-180 gram audiophile vinyl of the release
-all digital media and video created from the day, including video and downloads
-north african feast with Vieux
-limited edition event poster
-all access
-meet and greet and Q&A
