Historic 16mm Short Films of early live performances, 1928-1936, from the extensive collection of John Giriat. Most of the films feature very well known artists performing in the beginning of their careers. Before dubbing became a common practice in Hollywood, many of the early film companies would record their star's musical performances live, giving us a rare view of musical performers in their prime. Clips include: “Rhapsody In Black and Blue” starring Louis Armstrong in 1932; “Sing Bing Sing” with Bing Crosby in 1932; and “Radio Rhythm” with Rudy Vallee and his Connecticut Yankees in 1929.
