History of Stewart Field

The Historical Society of Newburgh Bay and the Highlands will present noted New Windsor Town Historian Glenn Marshall who will give a lecture with power-point pictures of Stewart Field going back to when the airport was the City Airport for the Newburgh area, and was home to bi-planes. Later, when the field was taken over by the U.S. Air Force, jets replaced the bi-planes and local Newburghers became familiar with the sound of roaring fighter-jets flying over the over the city and the Hudson Valley.
