Shopping and free events will run through 4 p.m., unless otherwise noted, and will include: a visit Santa Claus at the he American Legion Hall 1 to 4 p.m., a model train exhibit at the Presbyterian Church on Orchard Street; Holiday Crafts for Kids at the Binnekill Square, a Gift-Making Fair at the Catskill Mountain Artisans' Guild, Cookie Decorating at Stick in the Mud in the Bussy Building, and an Egg Nog Tasting at the Margaretville Liquor Store. Other special activities include: Holiday Cookie Tasting at Home Goods of Margaretville; Hay Rides throughout the village; Holiday Stories and Songs at the Open Eye Theater, The Art of Dan Williams at the Commons Gallery with an exhibit titled “Roosters, Wildflowers and Fall Colors,” and The Longyear Gallery will offer a show by The Longyear Group featuring Patrice Lorenz. There will be a Live Nativity scene at the Catskill Mountain Christian Center at 4 p.m. The day’s special events will culminated with Caroling and a Tree Lighting near the Chamber of Commerce booth at 4:30 p.m.
