The program will feature the NY-based trio VC3, an exciting new ensemble composed of three cellos, and dedicated to exploring the repertoire, old and new, for this uniquely sonorous combination. , VC3 has selected an exciting combination of works for cello ranging from an 18th century Bach sonata and 19th century canons by Brahms to 20th century works by Ferdinand de la Tombelle, a French composer whose pieces resemble those of Saint-Saëns and Fauré, and Paul Desenne who spread his compositional net to capture the sounds of the indigenous people of his homeland, Venezuela.
