Finals of the 45th Annual HVP String Competition features three full-length concertos by some of the most talented young musicians in the country competing for their chance to play a solo with the philharmonic in the coming year. In honor of this year’s special anniversary, the competition welcomes back two former winners as judges, Hiroko Yajima (winner in 1967) and James Kreger (winner in 1969) in addition to the philharmonic’s concertmaster, Carole Cowan.
