Tour Rondout Creek Aboard a 100% Solar Powered Boat Built by the Hudson River Maritime Museum As we cruise up Rondout Creek from the Hudson River Maritime Museum, you will learn about the industrial history of the area. Rondout Creek was a major industrial port for most of the 19th and early 20th centuries. After the opening of the Delaware & Hudson Canal in 1828, the village of Rondout boomed with barges, passenger steamboats, tugboats, shipbuilding, and the transportation of coal from Pennsylvania and locally produced bluestone, natural cement, bricks, natural ice, and more. Free admission to museum with tour.
