Interfaith Earth Day Observance

Sponsored by the Woodstock Interfaith Council, the observance includes a panel discussion, ceremony, and community dinner. All are welcome. On the panel,representatives of four different faith traditions—Sufi Muslim, Jewish, Christian, and Buddhist—will discuss spiritual approaches to our relationship with the Earth and its other inhabitants, and how our spiritual traditions can inspire action on environmental issues. The panel will be followed by a Q-and-A. Then we will join hands outside, in view of the mountain, for Sufi and Jewish chanting and a Zen liturgy honoring the Earth. The evening will end with a dinner prepared by the Zen Mountain Monastery.
