Lightforms in Hudson is exhibiting late acrylic paintings and varied ceramic sculptures by M.C. (Mary Caroline) Richards (1916-1999). Richards was a multi-talented and accomplished Ph.D. potter, painter, poet, essayist, translator, and educator, who pioneered and participated in numerous innovative avant-garde artistic events and developments of the mid- and late-20th century. Writer of the classic 1963 book Centering, M.C. also authored 6 other
books.
Also showing at Lightforms from August 21 through September September 27 is the dual show “Alignment and In the Figure of Divine Substance” featuring paintings by LauraSummer of Hillsdale and Ntangou Badila of Brooklyn.
