Having introduced the Rotas Code and scratched the surface of its application, Jim Handlin in this second talk will plunge arms out and headfirst into his decoding of the Voynich manuscript, an illuminated and hand-written codex composed in an unknown writing system and carbon-dated to the early 15th century. The Voynich has been studied by many professional and amateur cryptographers. No one has yet demonstrably deciphered the text, and it has become famous as the “grail” of cryptography and a crown jewel of esoteric lore.
