Kairos: A Consort of Singers, Lessons & Hymns

The service is based on the Anglican tradition of Lessons & Carols for Christmas, with readings from the Old and New Testaments interspersed liberally with congregational hymns and choral performances. It is presented on Palm Sunday, as the rigors of the Lenten season come to an end and Spring gets well and truly underway. Lessons & Hymns also has roots in the ancient Tenebrae services traditionally held on the last three days before Easter. Serene and contemplative, the service is remarkably inclusive: People of all faiths and of none are welcome and find solace after Winter's end. The program offers a meditative prelude to Holy Week.
