J.S. Bach’s Cantata 127, Herr Jesu Christ, wahr' Mensch und Gott, is regarded by many as the greatest of all the cantatas. It references both the fear and trembling before the Last Judgment and a glorious anticipation of the Second Coming. Kairos will also perform a motet by Josquin des Prez, a 15th-century French composer who stands among the most important in the history of Western music. In addition, Marla Rathbun will perform the first movement, Adagio, of J.S. Bach's sonata in C major for solo violin.
