AVALANCHE ART SPACE presents KARA SMITH: CODE an exhibition of images that use the patterns of player piano music rolls to investigate how sounds and information can be experienced visually. Smith has experimented with how to interpret and represent these visual scores through a variety of tactile mediums. Works include paintings on linen, canvas, rice paper, wood panels, gold leaf on slate, and hand-pulled prints on joss paper.
