Mastadons of Orange County

There have been more than 80 mastodons recovered in this state since Charles Wilson Peale’s earliest recovery in 1811 in Montgomery, Orange County. Join Gary Keeton who has participated in several exhumations of New York state mastodons to learn about the modern recovery of these creatures that roamed the area more than 10,000 years ago.
