Ever since the yoga teachers and energy workers replaced the Me Generation hippies, Woodstock has been a gathering place for healers. So it is fitting that the Most Famous Small Town in America now has a new space dedicated to integrative health and wellness, with a variety of healing modalities and a team-based, cost-conscious approach that is sure to endear itself to locals.

Woodstock Healing Arts caters to wellness seekers with a wide range of health practitioners housed in a beautifully renovated new space in the Bradley Meadows shopping plaza. The menu of services covers some 16 specialties, from craniosacral therapy and nutritional counseling to functional medicine and holistic gynecology.

"We are dedicated to bridging the gap between conventional Western medical care and traditional healing arts like acupuncture and massage therapy," says owner and acupuncturist Ben Fleisher. "Clients get the benefit of a collaborative team of experts, while maintaining the confidentiality and safety of a traditional medical office."

A commitment to providing many free and low-cost educational events and treatment options forms the backbone of the Woodstock Healing Arts philosophy. Community Acupuncture, offered weekly on Wednesdays from 12 to 3pm, makes the traditional Chinese medical practice more accessible and affordable with sliding-scale rates.

The light-filled space itself invites relaxation and healing, whether you're waiting for a treatment or browsing the selection of apothecary products. Woodstock Healing Arts' interior is barely recognizable from its last incarnation as the town's old video store, adjacent to the Bank of America and next door to Sunflower Natural Foods Market. "Come on in and see if you still remember where the dirty movies lived!" jokes Fleisher. Then relax and let the healing begin.
