You should be dancin’. At least on New Year’s Eve, if you can help it, right? Well, “Stayin’ Alive?,” an intriguing event on December 31 at City Winery Hudson Valley, ought to have you doing a lot of it—and perhaps solving a whodunit along the way.
Billed as “A Disco Murder Mystery New Year’s Eve Party!,” the fun includes drinks, drama, dinner, and, yes, much dancing. “Tony Marinara is staging a comeback and bringing disco with him,” reads the synopsis on the City Winery website. “No jive talking here, it will be a battle of the decades when Tony faces off with a foxy mama who has her eyes on the same club space. It’s ‘Disco Inferno’ vs. a state-of-the-art karaoke bar and the platform shoes are off! Hustle back in time and ring in 2023 with this interactive murder mystery dinner and dance party. It’ll be disco or die, who will be ‘Stayin’ Alive’?”
The package includes a welcome cocktail, first-course salad, second course (choice of: roast chicken with a madeira mushroom sauce, mashed potatoes, and asparagus; shrimp a la vodka with penne; or red wine-braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and carrots), butternut squash risotto (vegan), dessert, and a bubbly toast to the new year at 10pm.
“Stayin’ Alive? A Disco Murder Mystery New Year’s Eve Party!” will take place in the Falls Room at City Winery Hudson Valley in Montgomery on December 31 at 6pm. Tickets are $85.
