Of Ebony Embers-Vignettes of the Harlem Renaissance

In celebration of the 1920s arts and cultural movement, Core Ensemble, a Florida-based chamber music theater group, honors the lives of three African-American poets—Langston Hughes, Countee Cullen, and Claude McKay. The performance at SUNY New Paltz's McKenna Theatre includes renditions of music by jazz greats, such as Duke Ellington and Thelonius Monk, and a poetry-inspired narrative.
