The first-annual, citywide celebration of the arts on August 24 includes exhibits, music, and dance at multiple venues throughout Kingston, including the comedy opera “Bon Appetit” at the San Severia spiegeltent, featuring soprano Lisa Jablow as Julia Child. The Taste of Kingston runs in conjunction with the festival, with the city’s culinary cornucopia offering tastings throughout the day. National and international talent join local creatives in this one-day launch of an annual 11-day global festival.

Kerry Henderson, founder and executive director of the Kingston Festival of the Arts, joins the podcast with collaborator Gloria Waslyn to discuss the festival's genesis as well as highlights of the upcoming day-long event.
