DJ Greg Gattine worked at various stations in the Hudson Valley, including classic rock giant WPDH in Poughkeepsie, before landing at WDST in Woodstock, where he was the long-time morning show host until recently. Now working the more civilized noonday beat, Gattine jokes that he didn't realize just how much sleep he was missing until he stopped waking up at 4am every morning for work.

In a wide-rnaging conversation with Brian K. Mahoney, Gattine, who not only grew up in the Hudson Valley but has worked here his entire career (getting hist start at an AM station in Beacon in the 1980s), talks about the changing face of the media landscape, how new songs get introduced on the radio, how format-based radio is stifling commercial terrestrial radio, and some memorable moments from his long career.
