Poem: Sam

When I was a kid my sister read me a book.

It started with—
I am Sam.
Sam I am.

It did not say

Contractor, microbiologist, CEO,
Socialist, Democrat, Independent,
Muslim, Christian, Atheist,
Libra, alcoholic, bisexual,
Father of three.

And for me
That was enough.
