Poem: The Bone Is Cut Too Carefully

The bone is cut too carefully.
Taking a bite would be ridiculous
But sometimes my manners
Leave something to be desired
At least according to some who call
Themselves creatures of the human race
And disappear into the light like stars
Refusing to shine in the day
Or open an umbrella in the rain
But one never knows
What is beyond the hazy horizon
Because even the sun
Sometimes has to sleep.
