Portrait Painting Demonstration by Yuka Imata

Pelham Art Center is excited to offer a free demonstration by the recognized portrait artist Yuka Imata. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the process and thoughts a professional portrait painter goes through when starting a portrait. Whether you paint or not, this will be an interesting evening exploring creativity in action. The demonstration will explore the portrait process step by step, from drawing the composition in charcoal on the canvas to a complete lay-out in oil paints. As she works, Yuka will share her thoughts on light and shadow.
