CCE of Columbia and Greene Counties will be offering ten food preservation classes from September through December presented by Subject Educator Rebecca Polmateer. For many, food preservation may seem like a scary task; time consuming, difficult, and dangerous. In reality food preservation is really quite easy and, if done properly, safe. Serious and important safety protocols will ensure you’re doing it properly and keeping that food supply viable. Canning, freezing, fermentation, and drying are among the many methods of preserving produce to be consumed during winter months and beyond.
