This week-long camp is designed to teach middle school students the fundamentals of public speaking and argumentation skills that will enable them to develop confidence, self-esteem, critical thinking skills, creativity, and leadership. In addition to structuring arguments, preparing debate cases, researching evidence, writing rebuttal briefs, and delivering speeches, students will work on theater skills such as improvisation and acting in the afternoon. These theater techniques will help students be more expressive and emotive in their presentations and debates. The instructors will engage in theater games to create a fun and interactive learning environment.
