Through July 21. Pulptypes are the product of an image-making technique that relies solely on handmade paper pulp and results in works that resemble monotypes or woodcuts. It’s a printerly style of pulp painting. In this workshop you’ll learn how to correctly beat and color pulp for pulptyping, plus we’ll cover several approaches to image making with this technique. Next we’ll carve woodblocks, ink them, and cast wet paper pulp into the woodcut. This special technique results in the most detailed, embossed print you’ve ever seen. Additionally, we’ll experiment with turning pulptypes into three-dimensional objects.
