The Quiet Village is an annual one-day “anti-festival” of ambient music held in the Village of New Paltz. Quiet Village promotes serious ambient electronic music composers and sound artists, presenting environmental music in an outdoor setting that bypasses the traditional concert format and gallery installation paradigm. This year's Quiet Village, "String Theory", features artists using stringed instruments - from electric and classical guitar to 'cello and autoharp - to create soundscapes along with electronics. Performers include, Bill Brovold, Tom Hall, Fen Flanagan, Errant Space and David Mason, Samuel Johnson, Danny Asis & Joshua Kopek, Eric Roth, and buddha glues airplanes.
