Join us for "Rethinking Foreign Correspondence," a lecture by Amanda Sperber, the 2023 James H. Ottaway Sr. Visiting Professor of Journalism. A reception starts at 6:30 p.m.; the lecture is at 7. A Q&A will follow. All are welcome. Sperber is an independent journalist whose work has appeared in the Atlantic, Al Jazeera, the Economist, Glamour, the Nation, and Vogue, among many other publications. Her class at New Paltz on international reporting looks at the history of such reporting, and its legacy as a tool of colonialism, while also teaching students to do such reporting responsibly and ethically.
