Dennis Banks, Anishinaabe Native American activist, teacher, author, and leader of the American Indian Movement, along with First Nation people from North America and Japan, was joined by volunteers from thirteen countries on a ceremonial run finishing in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This remarkable physical and spiritual journey voyaging 4,000 km along the Sea of Japan carried the simple message, that All Life is Sacred. Our showing of Andrea Sadler’s film honors Mr. Banks, who died at age 80 on October 29, 2017, and also commemorates the seventh anniversary of the tsunami, earthquake and nuclear disaster at Fukushima.
