A Cary Science Conversation with Cary's Dr. Joshua Ginsberg and Duke University's Dr. Emily Bernhardt about how saltwater intrusion and sea level rise are reshaping forests along the mid-Atlantic coast. After screening the short film The Seeds of Ghost Forests, Drs. Bernhardt and Ginsberg will discuss topics including: the ecological consequences of saltwater stress, impacts on vulnerable human populations, and strategies to mitigate saltwater intrusion along the Eastern Seaboard and beyond.
