Sawkill: A Catskill Journey

New paintings, drawings, monotypes by Linda Lynton. The Sawkill River runs through Woodstock and the surrounding countryside like a leitmotif-ever present, reappearing at unexpected turns. Born in Echo Lake below Overlook peak, it runs through the forests of the Indian Wilderness, the valley and village of Woodstock, passing the hamlet of Sawkill, to empty out into the Esopus near Kingston, so ultimately blending into the Hudson. This is a journey through space and time where we are but one more witness to this living stream.
