On December 3-5th at 5:00PM in Kenyon Hall 131, Soferet Julie Seltzer will deliver her lecture series, “Who Owns Judaism?” Soferet Julie Seltzer is a feminist trailblazer and one of the first women known to write a Torah. She was the 2017-2018 Scholar in Residence at Congregation Beit Simchat Torah, the flagship LGBTQ congregation in NYC. Her lecture series is as follows: December 3rd: Ink of Her Own: On Being Female Torah Scribe; December 4th: Scribe for a Night: Hands-On Hebrew Calligraphy; December 5th: Font of Revelation: The Lost Art of Writing By Hand.
