Inspired by her experiences as a Latina living in the US, “SOUTH” is an original, one-woman musical by Florencia Iriondo about finding one’s roots and the place called home. The story explores themes of belonging, family, and identity and features gorgeously captivating music performed by Iriondo, a guitarist and percussionist.
Iriondo is a 2021 Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and New York City Department of Cultural Affairs Creative Engagement grant recipient. She is a lyricist at the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. Her song-cycle “Who’s Flo” has been awarded the Global Music Awards and the Hollywood Songwriting Contest.
