We are very excited to announce this special reading. Finally we have a book that features the Chapel! The Majestic Nature of the North explores the life and travels of Thomas Kelah Wharton, the young architect who designed the Chapel, the first Roman Catholic church north of Manhattan. The Greek Revival building, erected in 1833 and designed when the English immigrant Wharton was just eighteen, represents just one of his many architectural achievements. This book reveals a fascinating life and an important body of work. We hope you’ll join us!
