Artisans of all stripes call the Hudson Valley home, leading to an abundance of handcrafted goods from foodstuffs to face care to furniture and objets d’art for your home. You know spring has arrived when the Hudson Valley’s circuit of craft markets picks up again. In the next few weeks, you’ll have five opportunities to peruse wares from local artists and artisans in settings ranging from the riverside pavilion at Hutton Brickyards to the historic Montgomery mill building now occupied by City Winery.

Stormville Airport Antique Show and Flea Market | April 23 + more

Featured on HGTV’s “Flea Market Flip,” the Stormville Flea Market has brought hundreds of vendors together at a defunct airfield in Dutchess County since 1970. Features include county fair food classics like hot dogs, burgers, and fried dough, as well as live music and handmade crafts. Eclectic vendors in attendance will include Vagabond Toys, with second-hand toys as well as vinyl records, and Napanoch-based LAD Crafts, with home decor handcrafted from reclaimed barn wood. Admission is free, and the market is rain or shine. The flea market will be held throughout the summer and into the fall, starting on April 23. Keep in mind there are no pets allowed.

Earth Day Market | April 23-24

Attend River Valley Guild’s market to celebrate Earth Day on April 23-24 at the Yard in Beacon. Artisans will sell sustainable wares. Join a mid-market waterfall wander on Saturday, or a burying treasure workshop on Sunday. The weekend rounds out with a closing bonfire. Each event must be registered for separately. River Valley Guild has plenty of Earth Day festivities to attend, including clothing swaps, workshops, and a day for picking up litter. Check out all the events here.

MADE Hudson Valley | April 24

After the inaugural winter market’s success MADE Hudson Valley will return to City Winery’s historic Montgomery Mill complex on April 24. A collaboration between the venue and Edible Hudson Valley, the curated market will feature more than a dozen vendors spanning craft beverage producers to potters. Shoppers can sip craft cocktails or locally roasted coffee provided by K Bloody Mary Mix and Favor Coffee Company. Desserts will be provided by Tres Bon Macaron and Potters Table Bakery. Over 40 artisans will be selling their wares, with everything from handmade jewelry to leather products. New vendors joining this year include M Starr Studio, with funky ceramics inspired by botanical drawings, and A Handmade House, selling woven potholders in colors that pop. Those with a green thumb can head to The Parcel Flower Co.’s booth, a new vendor selling houseplants and pots. Guests can also visit with an alpaca, llama, and goat at the mini petting zoo provided by Clover Brook Farm. There will be outdoor bonfires to gather around and live music to enjoy. Tickets range from general admission to the VIP experience. The latter includes an exclusive wine tasting with small bites. VIPs will also receive a tour of the winery guided by a local vintner. Purchase tickets here.
