Stories of Water and Waste: A Walking History of the Hasbrouck Sewershed

As part of the O+ festival, the Art students of SUNY New Paltz are collaborating with Riverkeeper, the Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency, and the Hudson River Watershed Alliance to re-envision the connections between urban infrastructure, ecology and everyday practice. Meet at Broadway and Foxhall Ave with Riverkeeper watershed educator Sebastian Pillitteri, Director of the Hudson River Watershed Alliance, Emily Vail, and SUNY New Paltz professor Matthew Friday to explore Kingston’s water infrastructure, buried streams and forgotten history. Participants will roll a giant ball of recycled plastic as they walk the route of the city’s largest remaining sewer overflow system.
