It’s 1971 and Delphine stuns her rural town by moving to Paris for university. She’s swept into the feminist movement and falls in love with the cultured activist Carole. But when her father falls ill, Delphine returns to the farm—and Carole follows. Through a love story of two women struggling against homophobia and class divides, Summertime offers a gripping tale of political and social change. The film will be introduced by Mita Choudhury (History) and a post-screening discussion will be led by Christina Owens (Women’s Studies).
