Re: “Special HVCD Third Saturday Double Contradance

The story, according to 3 LEFT FEET:

3 Left Feet is a group of four marginal musicians who unfortunately found each other.

In truth, they can barely play. Their instruments are rentals and tuned by others. They get lost on the way to gigs and can't find their car keys when it's time to leave. They are socially awkward and engage in politically correct discussions that would bore a saint. Their families deny them. They have few friends.

Rhythmically challenged and tonally inept, the group occupies an uncomfortable niche between the twelve tone scale and existential meaninglessness.

Fiddler Ambrose Verdibello is testament to the tragic consequences of violin self teaching.

Guitarist Norman Plankey bangs mercilessly on an antique Gibson L-1, pretending to know what he's doing.

Clarinetist Danny Elias is the newest member and has dodged most bad effects of the Verdibello-Plankey vector. He often plays several correct notes in a row.

Bassist Pat Plankey holds together the bottom end, not that it matters.

Together they play enough clams to feed a throng at a luau.

3 Left Feet is playing the double contra dance (afternoon and evening) in Poughkeepsie on Saturday April 18. Don't miss it!
