Sweet Clementines Bring Pop Treats to Marlboro

The Sweet Clementines
  • The Sweet Clementines
Around here we’ve long dug the tasty confections of the Sweet Clementines, the clever local art-pop quintet led by New Paltz songwriter, guitar ace, and occasional Chronogram contributor John Burdick. On April 7, the band breaks the spell of an uncharacteristic gig drought by bringing its brand of Baroque brouhaha to the Falcon Underground.

The Clems are among the growing roster of acts on the recently launched, artist-run co-op label SubFamily Records. Their newest offering is “Bobby Murcer,” a track on the label’s debut release, a seven-cut compilation EP titled SFR 101.

Here they are, jamming the quirk-filled “Stay Sunny” at an area venue just last year:

The Sweet Clementines and guest Justin Tracy will perform at the Falcon Underground in Marlboro, New York ,on April 7 at 8pm. Donation suggested. For more information, call (845) 236-7970 or visit www.liveatthefalcon.com.
