Dr. Joseph Matta, Outpatient Medical Director of Substance Abuse Services, North Shore LIJ Hospital and Asst. Professor of Psychiatry, Hofstra Medical School, will focus on chronic pain, prescription opiate abuse and the heroin epidemic, with references to the portrayal of addiction in history and the arts.
