The Women of South Mountain Road spotlights the extraordinary accomplishments of the female artists, who were game-changing innovators in their crafts. The artists exhibited are: Bessie Breuer, author and playwright; Lucille Corcos-Levy, one of the foremost “modern primitivist” painters in America; Mary Mowbray-Clarke, designed and supervised the nationally recognized Dutch Gardens; Anne Poor, one of the few women allowed to artistically document WWII in the Pacific; Ruth Reeves, one of the most renowned American textile designers of the first half of the 20th century; Martha Ryther-Kantor, beloved teacher and painter; and Eva Zeisel, one of the first female industrial designers.
