Third Sunday Lecture

The widely-acclaimed MUSIC FROM COPLAND HOUSE ensemble returns to Lyndhurst for a dazzling concert of music that brings together the two leading composers of 20th century America and England – Aaron Copland and Benjamin Britten, respectively. The afternoon features Britten’s spectacular Cello Sonata of 1965, a musical landmark composed for peerless cellist Mstislav Rostropovich, and Copland’s exquisite Violin Sonata of 1943, composed just before his “Appalachian Spring” and occupying that iconic ballet’s pastoral, gracious world.
