The day begins with kids crafts at the Village Hall (86 Broadway) 1pm-3pm; Santa will visit after his tour of the village, thanks to the Tivoli Fire Department’s truck transport; more follows with a live theatrical performance at 3:15pm, where the Theatre on the Road troupe presents Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol at Murray’s Sanctuary (73 Broadway), followed by caroling with the St. Paul’s Choir and official tree lighting at 5pm at the Village Hall grounds, complete with horse drawn wagon rides, and finally wrapping up with business open houses throughout the village, where shops, restaurants and arts destinations will welcome visitors - a chance to meet and greet business owners and artists, share in refreshments and conversation.
The day is a coming together of modern day celebration, history and tradition, performance and art, and community.
