Tony arrived in New York in 1979 and became soloist for renowned trumpeter and orchestra leader Alfredo 'Chocolate' Armenteros. Their album, Prefiero el Son, recorded with S.A.R. Records, went gold. His years with Chocolate included group concerts, where he worked alongside music greats such as Roberto Torres, Linda Leida, Papaito, Alfredito de la Fe, Alfredo Valdes, Jr. and Marino Solano. He continues to delight audiences with his unique voice and mastery of the bolero.
