Whatever 

the next time
never mind
overwhelms caring
or the impulse to care
you might try tossing
a bit of salt into
that place
everyone but you
acknowledges is an open wound
not prone to healing
and wait for the sting to remind you
all is not fair in love and war...
but so what
next time
whatever
