Who doesn’t love to shop? With so many different towns, cities, and communities, the Hudson Valley has its fair share of cute boutiques filled with eclectic treasures waiting to be purchased.

Maybe a purchase with some history behind it is in order. Annex Antiques Center in the village of Red Hook has 30-plus dealers and a variety of antiques, vintage, furniture, glassware, coins, jewelry, toys, collectibles, fine art, and more. The Coop Arts & Antiques is the perfect place to find a gift for just about anyone; a multifarious store offering antique and vintage home furnishings, lighting, antiquarian maps, unique gifts, jewelry, and stationery.

Sugar Loaf Art & Craft Village is straight out of a story book. Over 20 shops fill this charming village, which is bordered by apple orchards and wineries and offers artistic delights like oil, water color, and acrylic paintings, stained glass, black-and-white and color photography, pottery, antiques, jewelry, woodworks, candles, soap, sculpture, and more. For second-hand clothes, check out My Sister’s Closet. Bliss Co-Op has hand-crafted cards, jewelry, and hair accessories created by its talented female members.

With all the walking you’ll be doing, you’ll certainly want some comfortable shoes. Pegasus Comfort Footwear has locations in Woodstock, Rhinebeck, and New Paltz. Besides offering name-brand shoes like Dansko, Klogs, Sanita, Birkenstock, and Spring Steps, Pegasus also has popular boot styles by makers like Dr. Martens and Blundstones. All three stores feature shoes for both men and women, and the New Paltz location has a special kids’ outlet.
