Kirsten Bates has been mixing images and sound since her first exhibition in New York. Her first documentary was shown nationally on public television. Her mesmerizing series of nature videos shot through the lens of a camera with a fixed focal length on a locked down tripod isolate movement so that they become still photos with movement and sound: “video poems.” Roberta Gould’s eleventh book of poems, To the Dogs, has just appeared. It presents twenty-five original photos with thirty nine poems. Sponsored by the Friends of the Woodstock Library.
