Artisans of all stripes call the Hudson Valley home, leading to an abundance of handcrafted goods from foodstuffs to face care to furniture and objets d’art for your home. You know spring has arrived when the Hudson Valley’s circuit of craft markets picks up again. In the next few weeks, you’ll have five opportunities to peruse wares from local artists and artisans in settings ranging from the riverside pavilion at Hutton Brickyards to the historic Montgomery mill building now occupied by City Winery.

Stormville Airport Antique Show and Flea Market | April 23 + more

Featured on HGTV’s “Flea Market Flip,” the Stormville Flea Market has brought hundreds of vendors together at a defunct airfield in Dutchess County since 1970. Features include county fair food classics like hot dogs, burgers, and fried dough, as well as live music and handmade crafts. Eclectic vendors in attendance will include Vagabond Toys, with second-hand toys as well as vinyl records, and Napanoch-based LAD Crafts, with home decor handcrafted from reclaimed barn wood. Admission is free, and the market is rain or shine. The flea market will be held throughout the summer and into the fall, starting on April 23. Keep in mind there are no pets allowed.

Earth Day Market | April 23-24

Attend River Valley Guild’s market to celebrate Earth Day on April 23-24 at the Yard in Beacon. Artisans will sell sustainable wares. Join a mid-market waterfall wander on Saturday, or a burying treasure workshop on Sunday. The weekend rounds out with a closing bonfire. Each event must be registered for separately. River Valley Guild has plenty of Earth Day festivities to attend, including clothing swaps, workshops, and a day for picking up litter. Check out all the events here.

MADE Hudson Valley | April 24

After the inaugural winter market’s success MADE Hudson Valley will return to City Winery’s historic Montgomery Mill complex on April 24. A collaboration between the venue and Edible Hudson Valley, the curated market will feature more than a dozen vendors spanning craft beverage producers to potters. Shoppers can sip craft cocktails or locally roasted coffee provided by K Bloody Mary Mix and Favor Coffee Company. Desserts will be provided by Tres Bon Macaron and Potters Table Bakery. Over 40 artisans will be selling their wares, with everything from handmade jewelry to leather products. New vendors joining this year include M Starr Studio, with funky ceramics inspired by botanical drawings, and A Handmade House, selling woven potholders in colors that pop. Those with a green thumb can head to The Parcel Flower Co.’s booth, a new vendor selling houseplants and pots. Guests can also visit with an alpaca, llama, and goat at the mini petting zoo provided by Clover Brook Farm. There will be outdoor bonfires to gather around and live music to enjoy. Tickets range from general admission to the VIP experience. The latter includes an exclusive wine tasting with small bites. VIPs will also receive a tour of the winery guided by a local vintner. Findings | April 30-May 1

On the last weekend of April, over 40 vendors will descend on the bucolic grounds of the Stone Ridge Orchard in Marbletown for FINDINGS, a curated, two-day exposition of plants, garden antiques, farm-fresh produce and artisan foodstuffs, and crafts from local makers. Pierre Bowring of Beacon-based Bow Glassworks will be onsite hawking his handblown glassware, alongside handcrafted stationery from Rani Ban Co., handmade leather accessories from Bartleby Objects, rare plants, and an array of beautiful and functional antiques and vintage textiles from Europe.

Field + Supply Spring MRKT | May 27-29

Field + Supply’s annual spring market, will take place Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-29, and will feature over over 200 vendors. Hosted at the industrial-chic Hutton Brickyards, with unmatched views of the Hudson River, the market will have wide range of food and drink vendors, including local favorites like Village Coffee & Goods, ice cream from Nancy’s Artisanal Creamery and Jolly Cow, Mexican food from Santa Fe Woodstock, and sustainable chocolate from Fruition. Kingston shops like Hamilton & Adams and Flora Beauty will sell their wares, with upstate-themed merch and luxury perfumes respectively. Bulk up your spring wardrobe with overalls from As Ever, lightweight shirts and dresses from Ophelia & Indigo, or leather shoes from Mohinders. Other products on offer include CBD salves, stylish bags to carry your pet in, and watercolor paint sets. Phoenicia Flea | May 28-29 + more

The beloved roving caravan of Phoenicia Flea is on the move again, with events scheduled across the Hudson Valley throughout the summer. This year’s kickoff will take place at Scribner’s Catskill Lodge this Memorial Day weekend, May 28-29. Phoenicia Flea will feature artisan and vintage vendors from all over the Northeast, from New York City to Vermont and Ohio. There will also be local favorites like Churchtown Dairy from Hudson pedaling their biodynamic cheeses and dairy products. Shop for a diverse mix of old and new, with vintage spots like the Ardent Forager also in attendance. For something to eat, stop in Scribner’s onsite restaurant, Prospect. Among other pitstops for Phoenicia Flea this summer: TSL in Hudson on June 25, Catskill Brewery in Livingston Manor on July 2-3, Hasbrouck House in Stone Ridge on July 30-31, Olana in Hudson on August 27-28, and Glen Falls House in Round Top on September 3-4. The rambling market will close out its 2022 season at the newish annual Stockade Faire in Uptown Kingston on October 1.
