If an elegant, intimate wedding with unparalleled views is on the bucket list for your impending nuptials, then look no further than The Chapel Restoration in Cold Spring.

Perched on the water just north of Foundry Cove, the stately 19th Century chapel offers couples a heaping helping of historic charm alongside breathtaking views of the Hudson River, West Point Academy, and Bear Mountain.

The circa-1833 Greek Revival-style chapel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and serves as a community event space and non-denominational wedding venue open to couples of all walks of life.

Originally known as Chapel of Our Lady, The Chapel Restoration was founded as the first Catholic church north of Manhattan, serving the largely Irish community that worked at the West Point Foundry. The chapel was all but abandoned by the early 1900s and lay in ruins until 1971, when a group of local volunteers purchased the property from the Archdiocese and renovated it.

With a seating capacity of 97 divided between rows of enclosed wooden pews and a balcony above, the simple, light-filled chapel is pitch-perfect for the micro-wedding trend of late. Couples can make the space their own by bringing in their chosen vendors for flowers, decor, photography, and even catering, with space for small receptions on the grounds. The serene, Greek-style portico and a Hudson River overlook offer the perfect spots to take photos after you say "I do."

Want to take your reception festivities off-site? Main Street Cold Spring, with its bevy of trendy eateries, is just a short walk away. And as a bonus for brides and grooms whose families and friends are traveling via train, the chapel is located next door to the MetroNorth station (with free weekend parking to boot!).

Regardless of your style, The Chapel Restoration’s wedding coordinator Stephen Hutchison encourages every couple to take advantage of the chapel’s two beautiful instruments for their ceremony: a circa-1870s Steinway grand piano commissioned for the prominent Livingston family and a custom pipe organ designed specifically for the space’s acoustics.

Thanks to the splendor of the historic site and its surroundings, a wedding at The Chapel Restoration any time of the year is sure to wow.
